The New Moon in Gemini

With my Sun, Mercury, Chiron and Vertex in Gemini, I know a thing or two about the energy of the twins.

Often misunderstood, but endlessly fascinating, Gemini isn’t as superficial as people think. Beneath the quick wit, playful energy and endless curiosity is a sign that is deeply interested in understanding life through connection, conversation and experience.

Here are my musings on this Gemini New Moon:

Over the past month, Taurus season invited us to slow down, root into our bodies, reconnect with our values and build solid foundations. Now a fresh breeze sweeps in and the energy shifts…

It’s time to get curious again, to call a friend, wander your neighbourhood, or take a different route home. Sign up for that course you’ve been thinking about, start the conversation with that cutie you’ve been dreaming about. This is a New Moon for opening your mind to new possibilities.

This lunation also invites us to become students of life once again:

Read the book.
 Listen to the podcast.
 Start the project.
 Follow the spark of inspiration.

But, a word of caution, as much as Gemini loves to move, connect and explore, this New Moon also asks us to notice when curiosity tips into overstimulation. The mind is a powerful tool, but it isn’t meant to run the show. Here are some simple tips for staying grounded during the airiest of seasons:

Practice calming yin yoga to stay grounded in your body.
Take breaks from the noise; meditation, a walk in nature, a plunge into the ocean. Leave space between the conversations. Often, the most meaningful insights arrive in the pause!

And so as we enter this next lunar cycle, ask yourself:
What am I curious about right now?

What conversation am I ready to have?
Where could I bring a little more playfulness into my life?

Gemini knows that learning, growth, and transformation don’t always have to be so serious. Sometimes they’re found in laughter, friendship, storytelling and following the path that simply feels more interesting.

Meet me on the mat every Wednesday 7:30-8:30pm at Centro Sarana for more lunar insights and some calming Lunar Yin Yoga.
